30th Day of Lent: Going without £161,965.32 spent in SIX months on an interim Finance Director at NSFT

Ian O'Connor Green Park Interim

The Freedom of Information Department at Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust writes:

“Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act. I can confirm the following:-

The Interim Finance Director is supplied to the Trust via the agency Green Park Interim and Executive Limited. Costs in relation to this role for the period 14th August 2013 up to 14th February 2014 are £161,965.32.

Apparently, money is limitless for NSFT Board directors but not for beds or community mental health services. £161,965 in six months is equivalent to over £320,000 per year, more than salary of the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Health combined.

There is a new Interim Director of Finance at NSFT. It will be interesting to discover how much this new contract is costing the taxpayer.

  1. Yes, and lets not forget that the interim finance director helped the trust to overspend on its redundancy bil by some £2.5 million….or 52%.   So,  good value for money then?……..Isn’t it time Monitor stepped in to look into the financial  dealings of the trust.?
