UNISON hit back today claiming that no one can make their mind up about running this service. Jeff Keighley, Regional Organiser for UNISON criticised both parties in their handling of this contract. “We have been petitioning the trust to improve services in the midst of heavy restructuring, downbanding of staff into lower skilled posts and failing to deliver the high demands this area requires. This spiral of events has led the trust to lose this contract due to the alarming pace of change. Managers need to pull the trust together and find direction before other services and what is left of staff numbers suffer further. Our members are telling us strongly that they are losing confidence in the trust’s ability to reshape these services”
