I was very sad to hear that Terry Skyrme is retiring. He and others like Terry are the backbone of the mental health service. As I carer, I judge every clinician with the question: would I trust them to do the best for the person I care for? Terry Skyrme is one of those people I would trust – a man of dedication and total commitment to those he cares for. He will be sadly missed by his colleagues and the people he has helped survive crises. All those at on the frontline have my admiration and gratitude. I hope Terry continues to fight for a mental health service that adequately cares for and protects the vulnerable people who are unable to speak for themselves. It is a privilege to work with him in these endeavours.
