Updated: Respected journalists needs our help for national radio and TV

Update: we now have two sets of journalists who need our help:

1. National Television

We need to hear from people who rely on services and have experienced the impact of the £600 million of cuts to mental health budgets nationwide on their own lives. We want to hear from people who use services, their families, carers and staff.

This requirement is for national television – so we want to hear from people both locally and across the country who are willing to appear. In addition, we will support you throughout the process, as we have done for others previously.

Have you or a member of your family been transported across the country or refused help because of a lack of beds? Has a vital service or facility been closed or downgraded? Has it been difficult to get an appointment or a care coordinator? As a staff member, do you feel able to offer the service you feel is decent? What is your own experience of the cuts? Do you believe the claims made by Jeremy Hunt and Norman Lamb that mental health funding has been increased?

Please get in touch as soon as possible if you are willing to be interviewed. You can also contact us via Twitter and Facebook. It is so important that our campaign highlights the impact of these dreadful cuts on our lives. Please spread the word. We need your help.

2. National Radio

A team are currently working on a programme examining the issue of early release from hospital and lack of support thereafter, which links to lack of beds and funding cuts for inpatient care, and crisis and community teams. It also relates to out of area placements.  We want to hear from people who use services, their families, carers and staff.

Thank you.
